What’s been happening:

Following Penn State, I attended graduate at the University of Virginia (twice), earning my Master of Landscape Architecture (1984) and Master of Architectural History (2001). Between these degrees I married a self described "Finnish Canadian farmboy with a Ph.D from Princeton". We have three sons: Nik (18), Quinn (13) and Luke (11). The boys lived abroad with me in 2008 while I was on a Fulbright -- no big surprise that I met a Penn State grad while living in Helsinki! Although I keep a small design practice going, I spend most of my time teaching in the Graduate School of Architecture & Planning at the University of Colorado, where I am currently the Chairman of the Department of Landscape Architecture.
